Holden Boiler Temperatures

This page shows the boiler temperatures logged on a day in October. This was during a time when the village had more power than necessary. When the water coming down Copper Creek is running high and extra power is available, the village dumps extra power into the heating elements in the boilers. While we refer to them as boilers they actually use liquid water, and if the water were actually to boil it would burst the pipes. So when the water gets above 180 F or so, we can't use that as a power sink anymore. With too much power in the system, it often overloads, sending someone scrambling out to the generator to figure out how to get power back up. Judging from this graph, someone was unhappily getting out of bed between 2 and 3am on this morning.
